Stage five.
I took the arm bones and covered them with newspaper bunched up to create bulged muscle shapes. I applied Durham’s putty over this, and scraped rough muscle striations into it as it dried. I left the elbow and wrist joints free. I covered the rough torso with more newspaper to bulk out the muscle masses, and sculpted more mache over it to smooth it out. Then I sculpted Durham’s putty over that and scraped in muscle striations, as before. The indented line on the sternum is to represent that the body had been opened up on the operating table, and organs had been taken out.
